The Kano state multidoor courthouse bill 2021 scaled the second reading first allotted day at the floor of the State House of Assembly.
This followed a motion presented by the Majority Leader, Labaran Abdul Madari (APC, Warawa state constituency), during the plenary today, December 7, 2021.
He said the bill will benefit the entire populace of Kano state.
“Establishment of the bill will reduce congestion in the state correctional centres as well as promote the judiciary sector in the state,” said Madari.
Also, the lawmaker representing Doguwa state constituency, Salisu Ibrahim Muhammad, noted that establishing the multi-door will solve some minor cases and reduce congestion in the courtrooms.
The majority leader also pointed out the key area in which the multidoor house will be useful to the Kano people.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader presented a motion of Kano state watershed erosion and climate management agency (KN-WECCMA) which had been passed for the second reading first allotted day by the members.
The agency, Madari canvassed, will help the state greatly with regards to environmental and climate change challenges as well as provision of potable water in the state if established.
The Chairman House Committee on Environment, Musa Ali Kachako (APC, Takai state constituency), commended the Majority Leader for his wide experience in presenting the motion, reiterating that climate change is a global concern governments and leaders across the world must accelerate actions to tackle.
